Youth One Music Camp

Each year, one of our kids goes to music camp. All of their lives, the kids have been surrounded by all kinds of music because Mark and I *love* music. Because of Jared's impending (albeit, delayed) departure, only Jonah went this year. It was Jonah's first time at a Youth Music Camp - in the past, he's been at Young Musicians' Camp for 4th - 6th graders. The camps were previously held at Norman Park Baptist Center, but all camps were moved to Brewton-Parker College this year. Jonah, as usual, had a fantastic time. Unfortunately, no one likes the 'new' accommodations very much at all. However, the camp was as big of a success as it always is. :)

I wanted to show a couple of pictures of the group, as well as a short video clip of one of their songs. They did a beautiful job on all of the songs. I was very proud.

The whole choir.

The area around Jonah. He's in the white shirt with the black tie next to the girl with long, blond hair towards the right side of the picture on the 2nd row.

Another picture of the kids around Jonah. Unfortunately, Jonah's best buddy is hidden by the really tall kid on the front row. Now, why would we put someone THAT tall in front of someone much shorter?? His grand parents were none to happy that they couldn't see him during the entire concert. I don't blame them.

My Jonah. :) So glad to have him home.

A clip from one of the songs the kids sang. I wish I had recorded two or three of them to put on here. They did an amazing job on their songs.

It always amazes me when I am at a music function like Music Camp or Music Week at Ridgecrest how incredible it is to hear all of the 'congregation' sing together. It's not like a regular church service because everyone - *every* one - in the room is a musician and loves to sing. The group always breaks out into 4-part harmony and makes the most beautiful praise to the Lord. I only captured a moment of it, and it's not the best example, but I hope you can get a little taste of what I experienced - and what I experience every year we go down for the end-of-camp concert.

Thank you for sharing a bit of our special time. I hope you enjoyed it, but I wish you could have been there and experienced it first hand. Nothing quite like it. :)

Live the life, and live it well.
