Graduation 2009

Yesterday - April 25, 2009 - my oldest son graduated. We home school, so the ceremony was a little unorthodox. We only had 2 graduate, and we opted not to go with cap and gowns or the typical commencement schedule. There was a welcome by yours truly. Then, the boys played a song together - Jared on keyboard, Ian on guitar. Ian's dad did a tribute to Ian and had a slide show about Ian's life. Kevin McKoy - our senior pastor - spoke for Jared, and then, we had a slide show for him, as well. After the slide show, we presented the diplomas and the class of 2009.

Here's the slide show I made for his tribute.

We had a wonderful reception immediately following the ceremony. It was great to celebrate with family and friends - old and new.

I'm very proud of Jared and of his accomplishments. He's going to make the greatest Marine that ever walked this earth, I think. :)

I, also, wanted to share some pictures from the day.

Jared playing keyboard during their song presentation.

Jared, Stephen Michael, and Ian - three friends from the home school group.

My hubby's uncle Bo, aunt Beverly, dh, dh's dad, dh's mom, Jared, and me.

Jared and his girlfriend, Victoria.

The Phillips family (Ian's) and our family - celebrating our graduates together.

Me and my baby boy.

My 3 precious angels - even though one is rather grumpy .... :)

Dedicated to my graduate.
May my love give you roots and help you find your wings. I love you so much, my son.

Live the life, and live it well.
